School History
Kingsway first opened as a Junior School on June 10 th 1952 and taught children aged 7 to 11 years.
In the early seventies there were radical changes in education and by September 1976 Kingsway became a middle school catering for children aged 9 to 13 years.
There were huge extensions and alterations to the building, which had a purpose built science lab, heavy crafts room, library and domestic science room.
By September 1990 organisation of schools had moved on again and Kingsway became a Primary School catering for children aged 3 to 11 years. The laboratory and craft room disappeared to make way for a nursery and a computer suite was installed.
These class and staff photographs are just some of many, which highlight the changes that the school has seen. |
